Why do people find it funny to be someone their not? I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but it’s also deception.
So to dispel all falsities, this post is to let you know my father doesn’t have an interactive Facebook page. A few months ago, he asked me to set up an artist page on Facebook, but that’s it.

The Twitter account is also legit, but he rarely updates it. There’s been talk about interacting more on Twitter, but I would wait until he makes a formal announcement on Donny.com before we start speculating if, when, and how.
In addition to this post, I need to send a shout out to the individual who helped me get my father and Marie’s Twitter accounts. Unbeknownst to us someone squatted the names, making it impossible to actually obtain both @donnyosmond and @marieosmond. In short, they have their accounts now.

It’s cool you’re protective of your father and his identity. What a son?
You know I was just reading in the Yahoo Entertainment that a star from Heroes had to make his own facebook page because he found out from his friend that somebody made a facebook page and it wasn’t him. And his friend was going to send a picture of them from a weekend to the fake guy and the star said that wasn’t him. Isn’t that interesting.
There are people out there when who do try to pretend to be somebody else and get away with it. I actually had somebody who had your aunt’s name and I deleted when I found out it wasn’t Marie. I think the person having a birthday in March is what got me when your aunt is born in October.
I guess you have to make sure the person you had as a friend that is a celebrity is the real person.
Did you just do an Enienem(SP?) with your title? LOL

So im on twitter right, so does that mean when donny and marie contacted me to want to follow me thats the real ones ,not the fake ones, im so confused know,

How some people have the energy and inclination to even think about impersonating others is a mystery to me! I barely have enough energy and hours in a day to pass myself off as me – if u get my drift!! Jeesh it must get frustrating for you at times, continually having to clarify things ……..guess that comes with the territory though huh? I have tried to twitter but I haven’t got the patience, I seem to sqwauk rather than twitter…and even that is very random, so if and when your Dad decides to become a proper twit (is that what they are called !!), I don’t think I’ll be rushing over there to follow his every move LOL!!

Well, Don. Thanks for telling us. That was cool of your dad to let you do a fan page of him. I have that page and I didn’t know you ran that.
What can I say, Don? Their are a lot of people who try to be another artists. I know your uncles have facebook pages. They came out in an email from their PA to say they have facebook. Or I know would send an email saying its them. You just don’t know who’s real and who’s not.
I think Wayne is the only one who’s on there every single day(of course when he’s not traveling with your uncles), but its kinda fun to see him on there since I heard he’s a VERY private man. That shocked me.
I sometime question who have a friend. Meaning the artists. I don’t have that many singers I followed on either facebook or MySpace. So how do you know when its them or a fan.
Yeah, Don. Tell us how the concert goes with Brandon tomorrow night. I hope Brandon do a great job and at least get in the top 3.

Why? I don’t understand WHY anyone would need to pretend to be someone they are not. What could the person possiby get out of it?
There are a TON of people in the world that I admire, respect and look up to, but I would not ever want to pretend to be that person.
It is great to learn from others and to change bad habits and add depth and layers to your personality that you have learned from someone else, but to pretend to be someone else —- like I said, I just don’t get it.
