Don Osmond: In my opinion…

What’s up with the music player?

Filed under: Music — Tags: — donosmond @ 11:53 am

So, by now some of you may have noticed the music player at the bottom of my blog, and are probably wondering why that’s there. Well, it may come to you by no surprise that I happen to enjoy music — must be in the blood. :) And it got me thinking… (Dangerous, I know!)

I frequent a few blogs from time to time, and for the most part I enjoy looking through some peoples’ play list they have posted on their blogs. On more than one occasion, I’ve actually gone to Amazon.com and purchased the music after taking a listen. That’s probably why I have more than 15,000 songs on my iPod.

Anyway, I decided to add this on my blog as a way to share some of the music I’m finding online. I’ll warn you, this list may get pretty eclectic. For those of you on my Facebook page, you know the range of music I listen to. I would say “I’m a little bit country, and I’m a little bit rock and roll” with everything in between.

As a side note, I will be making more changes to my blog in the near future. I’m looking for a new countdown clock for bobsledding again. I know this blog is in need of a serious revamp, so I’ll get to it.

Thanks again for visiting. See you soon.

Peace!

  2. OH and by the way Donny Osmond “What I met to say” just flashed on your player, and so that is my vote. (OK I know you are not taking a vote) My hubby and I drove my car today, I had quite a bit of stuff in my trunk for the Ronald McDonald House that I wanted his help in unloading there, I have “Somewhere In Time” CD in the car right now and he was complaining about some of the songs – not lively enough – I said oh but so beautiful!!! He said what is wrong with the radio to which I replied I never listen to the radio in my car.

  3. OK I just caught something you said – you bought the songs from Amazon.com, any particular reason why not from I tunes? Since you are a tech guy, just curious what the difference is. TIA.

  4. Actually, yes!

Amazon offers MP3 downloads DRM-free, which basically means that you can play the music on any computer. Not just the one you download from.

I run my music on multiple platforms, so this option is far better for what I do.

Since music is priced the same across the board, I figure why not.

  6. Interesting selection. I even saw a guy name Donny Osmond in there. Are you related to him. LOL

You have great taste, Don. I like a few genres. Country, pop, rock, R&B etc. I hate rap and classical.

Its going to be interesting what choice of music will be on the side. I can't wait.

  8. Dang, Don. You have 15,000 songs on your I-Pod? That’s a lot. I have almost 400 songs, but I could have more if I take the videos off of there. How many GB you have?

  9. I don’t own an I-Pod, or an MP3 player, and the only cd player I have is on my computer. I also own a record player for playing my old vinyls..lol. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like music cos I really do. I couldn’t live without it. I like all sorts of music as well from Soul to Rock. Not that keen on country but some is ok, and I hate that thumping dance music. I also listen to the radio a lot from a station that plays old music from the 60’s 70’s and 80’s.
Showing my age? Probably, but I really don’t like a lot of what’s in the charts today. I like some of what you’ve selected Don, but others I’ve never of so can’t really comment…:)

  10. So, fifteen minutes ago I had no idea who you were or that you even existed. But upon reading your article in the “Mormon Times” I just had to take a peak and find out a little more about who this mysterious, chivalrous man was. I admit your article was very compelling and sucked me right in, I found myself wanting to read more. So, now I will find my place among the rest of your blog stalkers! :)

Thanks again for writing such a great article, for my own benefit I sure hope all the LDS men out there read it! LOL

  11. I still don’t even own an iPod! What the heck am I thinking. I have tons of songs on iTunes, but I think I need a healthy scolding for being so behind on iTechnology. I’m still using my tape player. Okay, just kidding on that last sentence. Your blog is still da bomb, Don.

  12. OK kinda off subject here – however your quote today is from JFK. One of my favorite quotes is from JFK – “Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country”

  13. Don,

Thanks for the musical share. I tend to get in a “rut” and listen to the same artist(s) over and over, so it is always nice to get “suggestions” “likes” from others. I tend to discover more music that I didn’t know existed, or that I even liked.

    Happy Tuesday!
