I was talking to a friend of mine about Facebook earlier today; specifically, what people use Facebook for. This got me thinking… “What type of Facebooker am I?”
Here are a couple titles I came up with:
Casual Facebooker – Most people fall into this category. This user logs into Facebook about 2-3 times a day; checking e-mail, pokes, and staying in touch with close friends.
Poker – This user is similar to the Casual Facebooker, but also initiates every “poke!” …rarely sending messages.
Friend-cacher – This user has +1000 friends, ninety percent of which he/she has never physically met.
Ubersocialite – This user’s social calendar is packed with Facebook parties throughout the month.
Mobile-uploader – This user is never at a computer, and would rather use his/her smartphone to update the status or reply to messages… occasionally, posting pictures on the go.
T.M.I.er – This user has no filter, especially when writing on your wall and commenting.
Tweeter – This user linked his/her Twitter account to Facebook and updates regularly.
Off-liner – This user is online and responds quickly to e-mail, but never uses the IM function of Facebook.
Groupie – This user invites all friends to every group.
Tagger – This is the photo enthusiast who tags everyone and every thing.
Application Junkie – This user has every application available on his/her Facebook page; even invites you to add a few!
Whatever you are… there you are.

I am a casual frustrated facebooker! I think I like blogging and twitter better! I get embarrased to ask to be friends with people I don’t know except some! I know of some that have over 1,500 friends!
WHICH ONE IS YOU THENNNNNNNNN
BET I CAN GUESS THE ONE YOU AREEEEEEE
START A POLL.
”WHICH FACEBOOKER IS DON”
I’m a casual facebooker and friend-caher(just want to see how many friends I can get, probably change my mind and delete alot).
I don’t like poke.
I’m getting to like Twitter better than Facebook.
I used to be an application junkie but that ended real fast after there were applications that were spam. Now most of the applications I was using or friends were sending me are now blocked.
So Don. Which one are you?
What about a super casual Facebooker? As in probably only logs on 2-3 times a week, vows to delete it when Facebook changes their format, tells people to read her blog/e-mail her instead. Because that would be me.
Oh, and can I add that I HATE the “poker”?
This is hilarious! I can see myself in quite a few of these descriptions, especially when I was first learning FB.
I am one of those people who have to “use and figure out” every aspect I can of what ever new toy I am currently playing with. Then, once I figure it all out, I just use the basic functions.
And, like so many others, I am not fond of the new version of FB.
Well, I will say casual, I got started on this thanks to my brother, he lives in another state so it is a way to see pics of his girls and stay in touch. Most of my friends are work buddies however I do have a few that are high school friends. When I am at home and on computer, I usually have FB open and check it often. When I am out and about I check from my phone and have also updated status or commented on someone else from my phone. I will say that I enjoy FB.
OK about Twitter – I follow a few and have replied a few times but actually have no idea if they got the reply. I have not yet started sending out my own tweets.
I’m a fed up one. The new facebook is making me pull my hair out and I’m seriously thinking of giving it up. I don’t need to know everything that everyone’s doing. Most of my ‘friends’ I don’t even know Its just that when I get a friend request I don’t like to turn them down..lol I don’t do poking or anything like that. I just like to read their status’s and maybe comment now and again.
Anyway, I’m more into Twitter now. Much more fun…:)
Don. Were you bored when you did this? LOL
Anyway. I’m a casual facebookers. I usually talk to my closest friends. I would say. Out of 148 of my friends, I would say 20 or 30 of them are either old classmates, church friends or former co-workers I haven’t seen since the last time I worked with them, but I still keep in touch with. The rest of them I don’t even know personally.
I do have a few applications, but I’m very picky of which one I use.
I think I’m addicted to facebook. I’m always on. I don’t really turn off my computer. So I never log off of facebook. Bad, Shundra.
Have a great week, Don.
