I’m not going to count, and just make an assumption… There must be more than a million books in the world on effectively marketing your business. And while the information is helpful, insightful, and useful, I don’t want to waste my time reading everything out there. A man would end up dying before he read everything he needed to know about marketing.
There’s too much to read… I don’t want to waste my time.
There in lies the dilemma: How does one further his knowledge on a topic, but not waste his time reading everything?
I ain’t got a clue!
Thankfully, I’m not going to try to answer that question. Rather, that question sparked a thought.
The key to effective marketing is to deliver a strong message in the shortest amount of time; without compromising the way someone receives the message.
No other marketing message has stood the test of time, and constantly reviewed as honing on this key point than Nike; Just Do It.
They succeed in the delivery of this message by (1) Keeping the message succinct, and (2) Allowing the message to maintain its integrity.
On that second point, Nike adds a kicker to the message… The interpretation is individual. What is IT? Whatever you want IT to be. That is true marketing prowess.
Question of the day: What is your favorite commercial? And, does the company keep to these two points?
