Prior to the weekend, I told you all to go out and have a great weekend. Well, I was hoping for the same. Little did I know what I was in for.
Following a bobsled camping trip Friday night (and after a quick photo shoot at the Bonneville Salt Flats), we returned home to put everything away — including the bobsled. Everything was going swimmingly until we began getting the sled out of the truck. (Keep in mind, that sled weighs a lot!)
As Jeremy and I were getting it out of the truck, I was struck with a sharp pain that surged my back. Yeah… it hurt. But, instead of resting (as I should have been) I helped finish the job with Jeremy and got the sled put away.
Fast forward to today… I went to the Doc and found out that I pulled four ribs out of place. Basically sprained them. He put me back together and sent me on my way. He told me to ease off the heavy lifting for the next couple of weeks.
I don’t think this is going to keep me out of the bobsled season, but I was sure nervous.

I’m sorry to hear that Don. I hope you are feeling better soon. My husband sprained his back a few weeks ago and it is NOT fun, to say the least.
As far as my weekend went, I had a great one. I took a trip to Vegas and caught a few shows at the Flamingo. Great new act playing there, you should check them out.
Take care of yourself and no heavy lifting for a while!! Ya hear me?
DONNNNNNNNNNNNN,

Hi Osmond take it easy. Keep your dreams in sight. You know Aussie (sorry that I think is stuck with me), I haven’t seen you in years and this is what you are up to. It sounds like you are having fun. Good luck love I hope you make it.

Gawd boys and their toys! Hope you are still taking the Ibuprofen and doing some deep breathing exercises on a regular basis! I bet it smarts, but don’t worry – you would not have punctured a lung ( where do these people get these ideas from!)fracturing a rib or ribs……now that would have put a different slant on things, but chances are they sprung out and in again before you knew it! I Have popped quite a few ribs out of place ( other peoples mind – not mine!) while doing cardiac massage. Not a nice feeling but to my knowledge I haven’t punctured one lung in the past 30 years!
So keep on taking those anti-inflammatories ( with food!) and support your ribs if you have to cough or sneeze…… and Don…… next time remember……DELEGATE!!!
Nothing wrong with being 49…its 50 and over I have a problem with…:(
Take it easy Don…don’t want you out of action before next year.
I’ve been waiting for that story all weekend! Hope you feel better soon!
Don’t worried, Don. You have 20 years to go. Worry about your 30th that’s coming up in a year. I’m showed not ready for 30 in 2 years. Plus your dad is only 50 going 51. He doesn’t look it.
Don. I think you will keep your good looks way into your 50s. Don’t forget. It runs in the family. Now how your body feels. Now that’s a whole another story. LOL
Don. I’m just glad it didn’t puncture your lung. Oh that would had been worse. You’re lucky it was just a strain. Get well soon, Don.
DON.
ARE YOU STILL WORKING OR OF SICK.
Dan the Man! You are too funny! I don’t think they were the floating ribs, but then again… I have no idea. The only thing I know is there were 3 from the right side and one on the left that were of of place.
Still hurts a little to breathe. I’ll be going back in this week to double check everything stays in place.
…and I’m really not looking forward to being 49.
Wait until you’re 49
Whew Daniel, you got me confused.
I’ll go with: “Men, the things they do”.
Take care…..
To be anatomically accurate, were they the vertebro-sternal ribs, the vertebro-costal, or the floating ribs? Or a combination of them?
Ouch! Is there something with the name Don and injuries?! o.O
Heal well.
Ouch. 4 ribs out of the place. Thank god it didn’t hit your lung. That would had been very bad. You’re lucky it was too bad.
Don, Don, Don. I know you are 29, but sometimes a 29 body is not the same self anymore.
Take care of yourself, Don. Take a few days off to get hurt. Don’t forget to not tell your parents. LOL They might have a big heart attack. Get well soon, Don.
Heal fast. If you are interested in natural remedies, get these homeopathic remedies and do along with what your doc said. Feel free to talk to your doctor about trying it. Most doctors have not had problems with it. It’s not a med, nor a vitamin. It’s a remedy like airborne cold tablets or head-on.
ruta graveolens; bryona; arnica.
the first 2 are for strains and sprains. (there is another one, but i forgot the name.. i’m out). arnica is for tramua, bruising etc. my mom used it when she had a biopsy to lessen bruising and because she had a bleeding disorder.
Do not eat anything with mint 15 mintues before or after a remedy.
Any questions, feel free to ask. Homepathy works. I’ve had it work. Like medicine though, it’s not 100%. And what makes it a little harder is some remedies work for some people and not for others.. it depends on more than just the symptoms and cause but by your mind.
Feel better.
Ouch! Hope you are feeling better soon.
DONNNNNNNNNNNNN,
