I know. I know. I know.
I already said this once before, and quite recently… but seriously! I have amazing friends. Let me explain.
My birthday is coming up (July 31… shameless, I know.) and a couple of my friends decided it would be fun to throw a surprise birthday party for me… and that’s exactly what they did. This evening I was surprised by a number of friends who came to celebrate my 29th birthday. This is one birthday that will not be forgotten!
Maybe I’ll go into more detail later and explain actually what happened, but suffice it to say…
I have amazing friends!
Thank you to everyone who showed up. And, I’m sorry that you had to wait for so long before I got there. But, I really appreciate everyone who showed up. That really meant a lot to me.
For those of you who were not able to come and sent me text messages, thank you!
And a special thanks to Jeremy and Estee!

I”m totally chewing them out for not inviting me.
Thanks, Lee. I appreciate that.
Hi Don,
A little less than 29 years ago my friend and I (both 13) took our baby sitting money and went to the local mall in our city, (Los Angeles) and bought a very pretty white Baby Blanket and sent it to your Mother and Father as a gift for your impending arrival.
We never ever purchased any gift for a celebrity before that and neither one of us has since, but we wanted your Mother and Father to know how very happy we two fans were that they married and were having there first child.
So 29 years later once again… Happy Birthday. Your Mother and Father did really really good! I can only imagine how extremely proud they are of the wonderful person you have become. Enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday a little early.

She told me mom I will be 30 next year. And I told her to stop saying that
not to remind me. :=)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (a little early), I can’t believe you are already 29! When I met your Dad (and the rest of the family), you were only a month or so old and you were all he talked about! He was showing everyone photos of you!
Hope you have a wonderful Birthday on your special day!!
Kathy
That is an amazing, sweet, and completely thoughtful thing for your friends to do for you. One of my all-time favorite quotes is from a Beatles song: “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” You must dole out love by the buckets full to have friends who want to make you feel that special. Good on you!
And, just so you know….twenty-nine was an AMAZING year for me. It was the year I found myself again, after being “lost” for so many years, forgave myself for all of the pain I’d allowed myself to endure, and found my soulmate, and began the incredible, sometimes crazy journey that is now my life.
I hope that you have good things to come in your 29th year as well, my friend.
xox,
C.
Happy “early” birthday Don!
The gift of friendship is so amazing! I am glad you have great friends to treasure.
I wondered if you were already anticipating your upcoming birthday on the 31st. Do you like to celebrate your birthday quietly or by being surrounded by family and friends having a great laugh?
I remember turning 29, it was much worse than turning 30 or 40. Twenty nine just felt “old” and my husband loved teasing me about feeling old. But no matter how old, I still love to celebrate with a great home made meal and chocolate cake and mint chip ice cream.
Have a great Wednesday!
Happy Birthday…….
Aww. How sweet of them. I hope you had a wonderful time.
I know for years I always celebrated my birthday alone with nobody else. That’s before I made friends because I never had friends growing up. For the last couple of years, me and a few of my friends from church go bowling and out to eat on my birthday. We have soo much fun.
I always said I wanted to have a big birthday party for my 30th birthday in 2 years and I know a lot of my friends will show up.
It is cool to share your birthday with your friends. It makes you not feel so alone on your special day.
Happy early Birthday, Don.
