Jeremy and I hit the track late yesterday evening for a couple runs down the track before taking the Thanksgiving holiday off. And, we are so glad that we did.
(Flashback) The last time we were up on the track, our best time was a 52.25. Starting off the season with that fast of a run got us very excited for this season. It means we are only getting faster.
Well… on the first run of the evening, we finished with a 52.25. Can you believe it? The exact time from our previous night’s run. We couldn’t believe it. What’s more, the skeleton athletes that had gone before told us that the track was running a little slower than before. (What does that mean for us? In theory, we’re going faster!)
Totally stoked from our first run, we set for our second of the evening. No lie. We finished the track in 52.25. Three times in a row! As we crossed the finish line, Jeremy was laughing hysterically. What are the chances?
I wish I could say that we got faster as the evening wore on, but we didn’t. However, the saving grace was that all four of our down times were nearly the same – consistency is key.

Did someone on the team loose weight? Lighter your are the faster you go. Stay healthy guys.
Wow! That’s AMAZING! Maybe you should go buy a lottery ticket with those numbers, or something…??
At least you’re not going UP in the numbers!
Jane. Knowing Don. His probably watching football with his dad and brothers. I know my uncle was. The first thing that came out of his mouth when he entered the house was, “Is anybody watching this?” I think my mother had the channel on Lifetime and he was ready for some football. LOL. Men and their sports.
Anyway. Back on the subject because I got off of it. Congrats, Don. I think that was luck and faith for ya’ll and maybe a little payback to the track for not letting ya’ll practice for two weeks straight.
That track was in you and your team’s favor last night while it wasn’t in that other teams favor.
You all be hitting 51 in no time.
But at least you didn’t go slower…that’s the way to look at it…so well done you guys…:)
Urm…shouldn’t you be eating….or something…lol
Hope you’re a having wonderful Thanksgiving day.
