I thought long and hard about posting on my birthday… and decided; why not!

So, in my shameless self-promotion…

I don’t know why I find this video so funny; I just do.

It might have something to do with the fact that I’m a MAC fan!

Why I Bobsled…

Filed under: Health and Fitness — Tags: — donosmond @ 8:13 am

I’ve been told that I live life a little too close to the edge with my need for speed. Especially, when it comes to bobsledding.

Well that may be the case, but I found an interesting article that helps explain why it is better to live life on the edge rather than in a bubble.

Go Fearless

Now… don’t for a minute even think about comparing me to a rat. This is merely a science experiment, which is being extrapolated to suggest that the same thing can hold true with humans.

I just found it interesting that if you live life on the edge, you are really living. :)

What’s a Zephyr? Why a Rat?

Filed under: Day in the Life of... — Tags: — donosmond @ 7:58 am

Last Saturday, I went to a Salt Lake Bees game with a few friends. During the game, one of them asked me, “What’s a Zephyr?” (The question spawned from the fact the Bees were playing the Zephyrs)

And having a wealth of knowledge at my finger tips (the Blackberry), I decided to Google it.

Turns out zephyr has multiple definitions:

  • The west wind.
  • A gentle breeze.
  • Any of various soft light fabrics, yarns, or garments.
  • Something that is airy, insubstantial, or passing.

Well, isn’t that interesting?

I looked up at the scoreboard and took notice of the Zephyr’s mascot – a rat! I then asked, “Why a rat?”

U-tah; not U-topia

I feel really bad for my brother…

The other day his car was broken into, and his iPod stolen. It’s just another confirmation that we live in Utah – not utopia.

I Have Amazing Friends!

Filed under: Day in the Life of... — donosmond @ 11:07 pm

I know. I know. I know.

I already said this once before, and quite recently… but seriously! I have amazing friends. Let me explain.
My birthday is coming up (July 31… shameless, I know.) and a couple of my friends decided it would be fun to throw a surprise birthday party for me… and that’s exactly what they did. This evening I was surprised by a number of friends who came to celebrate my 29th birthday. This is one birthday that will not be forgotten!
Maybe I’ll go into more detail later and explain actually what happened, but suffice it to say…
I have amazing friends!
Thank you to everyone who showed up. And, I’m sorry that you had to wait for so long before I got there. But, I really appreciate everyone who showed up. That really meant a lot to me.
For those of you who were not able to come and sent me text messages, thank you!

And a special thanks to Jeremy and Estee!

So, I was sent this in an email recently…

I figured it is the perfect combination of two hot topics in the news: one from the economy; one from entertainment.

May I introduce you to…

Ah ha!

I found something that is quite hilarious to post on my blog.

While clicking through the Internet reading up on various article, I found this…

Cyclists with shaved legs

Admittedly, I have shaved my legs before. But, there are reasons. This article helps to better explain — why? :) … and yes, ticks (and other bugs) get very annoying when riding.

I can’t believe I just admitted that to the world.

1 Weekend, 2 Days… 3 Hours of Sleep

Filed under: Day in the Life of... — donosmond @ 6:49 am

I’m to tired to come up with a good post today…

Why, you ask?

Well, it a combination of a few things:

  • A late night BBQ
  • An auction :)
  • Going to see Dark Knight
  • Bobsled training
  • A month’s worth of laundry
  • A concert
  • Ward-hopping
  • A bike ride
  • Family dinner

I need some sleep.
